Lastman finishes first
- Monday, 15 August 2016
Three-year-old colt Lastmanlastround put in a game performance from the front under David Allan to claim the spoils in this afternoon's EBF Maiden Stakes (Class 4) at Thirsk.
The son of Azamour was sent of a short-priced favourite for the 7 furlong event at the Yorkshire track and he duly obliged when making headway in the final stages to stretch clear of his remaining five rivals, after withdrawals at the start.
Unraced at two, he had shown plenty of potential with two promising runs earlier this year, before meeting unsuitable conditions on his latest outing.
Congratulations go to his owners, The Boot Sarratt Racing Syndicate, and to Nasir who looks after him at home.

Noble Act fulfils early promise with win
- Tuesday, 09 August 2016
Noble Act, an attractive three-year-old Kyllachy filly, built on early signs of ability when taking the Rotherby Handicap (Class 6) over 5f at Leicester on Sunday.
After three creditable performances in Maiden company, this was her first start in a handicap race; she was held up in touch in the early stages of the six-runner affair, before being woken up by Paul Hanagan around the halfway marker. The filly picked up nicely in the closing stages to get her head in front when it mattered - a short head being the official winning distance.
Congratulations go to her owner Colin Murfitt, and Steve Davis who looks after her at home.
