Invitation Cup Double

We wanted to congratulation Rae's nephew James McKeown on winning The Super Mile with Trafalgar & The Invitation Cup with Adjudicate this weekend. Hosted by Mysore Race Club, The Invitation Weekend is arguably the biggest race meeting in India's season and Adjudicate is the first horse to win The Invitation Cup two years in a row. Jame's mother Lady Cecil and aunt Sally Noseda were there to witness this great achievement. We are all very proud of you James. That's quite a trophy!!

Having been placed on all three previous starts, Autumn Trail really put her mark on today's race by buttoning down the lead early on. She didn't have the best drawn so she had to get away well and keep the pressure on throughout. A very pleasing run with Hollie Doyle on board. Rae trained her dam and two full half brothers including winner Back on the Trail by Sixties Icon so onward and upwards! 

New family partnership

We are thrilled to have some of Rae's family on board at Chestnut Tree Stables in a new partnership. Three of Rae's sisters and a family friend have joined together the create LADY CECIL & FAMILY and have taken a share in two fillies that Rae purchased at the end of last year. They will run in Lady Cecil's colours which previously belonged to her late husband Sir Henry Cecil. 

The whole family know a thing or two about racing, having been involved in the sport in one capacity or another most of their lives. This includes Lady Cecil's son, James McKeown, who trains in India and has just won the Group 1 Calcutta Derby with Trafalgar this month. Congratulations James!

Roman Spinner made it a double yesterday for Rae and two in a row for her owners Reprobates Too. She was at her favourite track Kempton in the Fillies' Handicap (Class 4) over a mile and achieved her fifth career win. She was her usual brave self leading briefly a furlong out but put back under pressure again before battling to lead in the last 50 yards. She always gives her best and refuses to give in. We love her for her spirit as well as her sweet nature.

Arriviste breaks her maiden

This was Arriviste's third race and second time at Chelmsford. She has shown improvement with each run. She travelled nicely throughout the race and responded well when asked to challenge the leader at the 2 furlong marker. Once she got her head in front it was a done deal winning the Maiden Fillies' Stakes (Class 4) (Plus10Bonus) comfortably. She is a nice 3 year old prospect for next year.
