Back on the podium

Our little ray of sunshine stormed through to win at Lingfield on Saturday. This was Roman Spinner's fourth career victory having been unlucky in recent contests. They went a decent gallop and Rob Hornby had her nicely set up before she charged through from the back of the field to win in style. To date she has favoured Kempton but Lingfield also seems to suit her well. Let's hope the handicapper isn't too harsh! Her owner's, Reprobates Too, were obviously delighted and very happy with her pilot. Some members also have connections to Cry Havoc and Rob Hornby has helped secure a couple of nice wins for both now.

Mentoring, leadership & teamwork

Congratulations to Lulu Winter for gaining the Level 2 Mentoring, Leadership and Teamwork qualification from West Suffolk College organised by NARS and sponsored by Jenningsbet. It was a 12 week course to train mentors in racing yards to help support and retain staff. "In the same way the Lycetts Team Champions Award has encouraged reflection of what we do well as an organisation and what we can improve on, this mentoring course allowed me to reflect on how I can better support and nurture the staff at Rae Guest Racing to help them reach their full potential" explains Lulu. As an organisation,we take on numerous new graduates from the British Racing School and provide work experience opportunities to youngsters interested in a career in racing. This kind of training can only enhance the support we give these newcomers to the industry as well as our established team.

Into battle she went!

CRY HAVOC broke her maiden in the Fillies's Novice Auction Stakes over 6 furlongs at Kempton yesterday. Rae felt she would run a big race but being only her second run she is still learning and a good experience was key. Rob Hornby certainly gave her that! Having ridden the filly first time (getting a second) he got her in a nice midfield position and was in touch with the leader a furlong out before finding another gear and finishing strongly. Look out for this super filly in 2020. She has a lot of promise.

Another great result

Show Stealer proved she is still in great form winning at Kempton last night in a competitive sprint Handicap. She had a good draw and jockey Cameron Noble made the most of this advantage before shaking her into the final furlong. She cruised into the lead and won by a convincing margin. There aren't many more opportunities in 2019 for this yard favourite but it would be great to send her to stud having notch up one more success.

The thrill of racehorse ownership

CRY HAVOC made her debut at Kempton this week giving The Musketeers their first runner from this 3-horse syndicate. It was a promising start with a strong 2nd in a competitive field.

Our syndicates have enjoyed a great 2019 season. The Bucket List Syndicate brought together lots of first time racehorse owner's. They had a fabulous summer with 3 wins and 2 places out of 9 runs with a horse called KACHUMBA.

With comments such as:
“She gave me an amazing season and summer and I can’t thank you all enough. She is a wonder lady who loved the hard going and showing those boys how to do it. Thank you Rae for an awesome season. One I will never forget.“

“Still buzzing from Monday at Brighton what a great feeling when it all comes together and Kirby gave her a great ride”

If you would like to join an existing syndicate with us or form your own for 2020 please get in touch. For more information call Rae on 07711 301 095 or Lulu on 01638 661508.
