A celebratory pirouette

Dance Legend obviously learnt a lot from her first run on the all weather two months ago. This time on the turf at Ripon on Saturday, she showed she has improved from the experience winning by a convincing length and three quarters. Rae trained her dam Syvilla to win and be placed second in the Listed Hoppings Stakes in 2009 so we have high hopes for her final foal from the first crop of Camelot.  Congratulations to owner/breeder Tim Cooper; she holds a special significance for him.

Two for two

Midnightly had another cracking run last night at Chelmsford in the last race of the evening. From a poor draw, she was like a bullet out of the stalls and ridden at speed to take an early lead. Martin Harley gave her a great run maintaining her hard won advantage right to the winning post; holding off the challenger. This little filly is on great form and her last two outings have shown she has that all important fighting spirit.

It's a whiteout in Newmarket

Not even the snow could stop our team of dedicated staff getting the horses out today. Horses are a 24/7 job so, despite the severe weather, the staff at Chestnut Tree Stables braved the conditions and managed to get the yard exercised this morning. Well done team!!

Midnightly back on top

Midnightly made a very convincing job of last nights race winning the Betway Sprint Handicap at Wolverhampton. She was quick out of the stalls to take the lead from the outset. She determinedly maintained her advantage throughout the race winning nicely with plenty in the tank at the finish. This tough little filly, owned and bred by Mr Chris Mills, appears to enjoy dominating from the start so Martin Harley did a great job giving her that opportunity. It's good to see her back in the winner's enclosure.

Bright and crisp

It was nippy again this morning but another bright and sunny day here in Newmarket. Rachel was out with her camera taking some shots of the 2 year olds enjoying the sunshine. No SAD here!
