The Calm Again Syndicate

dark_angel_fillyGreat news, Rae has purchased the three fillies for the Calm Again partnership and he is delighted with them now that they are back at the yard.

They include a grey filly by Dark Angel, a leading sire of first crop two year olds out of Downland (El Prado).  She was Lot 598 in October 2 and is pictured right.  She is from a fast family that includes Gimcrack second Ma Yoram and looks a real two year old type.

The second purchase is a classy looking Medicean filly out of the Nureyev mare Rhumba Rage.  Medicean is best known as the sire of champion two year olds Dutch Art and Nannina, but is also the sire of our own Conciliatory and Macchiara, and so has plenty of fans here.  Lot 1022 October 2.

This filly is out of a fill sister to French Group 2 winner Fotitieng from the family of Wolfhound, Foxhound etc.  She is pictured right.

Last but not least Rae is very pleased to have secured a chesnut filly by leading British based sire of two year olds, Dutch Art out of a three time winning Golan mare, Turban Heights, from a good black type family of Barboukh, Old Vic and Green Lucia.  Lot 1180 October 2

New acquisitions in yard

Rae has had his buying boots on this week and has acquired Lot 598 by two year old sire Dark Angel out of Downland, from a fast family; Lot 1022 a Medicean filly and lot 854 a Cockney Rebel filly.  One or more of these will be offered for sale and Rae is back to Tattersalls today and tomorrow.  To express an interest or to talk about buying a horse in training for 2012 please call Rae on 07711 301095.

Runners update

Not many runners again as a lot of the horses are coming to the end of their seasons, but a few good efforts to report.  First, Concilatory was really unlucky to be beaten a head into fourth in a Listed race in Germany yesterday.  Apparently she hardly got going as there were horses leaning on her and then the race was over.  Happily, however, it shows that she is worth persisting with at this level in the hope of getting the elusive black type.

Today Million Faces and Gaselee both ran well, the former finishing third on ground that turned out to be too soft for her, and the latter running a bit fresh and free but staying there at the end of the race to finish fifth.

Later this week we could see the return of Albany Rose, who has been working well.

The Calm Again Partnership

We are in the process of setting up a new partnership. The Calm Again Patnership will have 4 partners each to put in £15,000 to purchase 3 horses. This is a great way to get involved. There is only 1 share remaining, if you would like to be involved please get in touch as soon as possible. You can contact Rae on his mobile 07711 301095 if you would like to discuss this further.

Runners update

Not many runners this last week, although three of the long awaited two year olds did make it to the track.  Future Wonder, Million Faces and Shamakat all ran fair races on their debuts.  Future Wonder had a bad draw but ran on well and Million Faces must have been bumped by every other horse in her race, including our own Shamakat.  Oh well, they all live to fight another day and have the experience of their first race out of the way.

Cool Water Oasis ran a very brave race to finish second at Kempton last night, you certainly cannot fault her for trying and if she carries on in this vein, surely she will find a race she can win.

Next week the only declared runners so far are the unpredictable Elfine and Emperor's Waltz having her first run.
