Vale of Paris trebles up

Vale of Paris, owned jointly by both Rae and Emma O'Gorman made it three wins from four outings this year when scoring in decisive fashion at Doncaster on Saturday night.

On her previous start Vale of Paris fluffed her lines somewhat at the start but there was no such problems at Doncaster when she travelled strongly throughout before asserting a winning a shade cosily.  There is a good chance that she may be turned out again quickly.

Congratulations to Emma, her partner Armando who rides her every day and Farman who both looks after her and led her up.

Mirza rules in France

Super star sprinter Mirza made late headway in the Prix Du Cercle at Deauville this afternoon to win comfortably by a couple of lengths under successful French jockey Ioritz Mendizabal.

This is the second consecutive year Mirza has won this race after winning it last year when partnered by Frankie Dettori.  Ioritz had Mirza positioned beautifully throughout when tracking the leaders in the middle group, he was asked for his effort 300m out and quickly put the race to bed eventually being eased down close to the line.

Thankfully due to the wonders of modern technology, you can view the race via the French Racing Channel on youtube by clicking here.

Congratulations to Chris and Lesley Mills who bred Mirza and to son Robbie who looked after him on the journey over as well as saddling him up.  Thanks also to NRT who yet again mastered a successful journey over during a difficult time.

Memoria makes all at Windsor

Memoria, Chris and Lesley Mills' homebred filly made all under David Probert to win decisively in the one mile, two furlong handicap at Windsor yesterday evening.

It was nice to have a winner for Chris and Lesley at their local course, and well done to David Probert who was planning on having a day off - it was his only ride! Congratulations to all, and Farman who looks after Memoria.

Memoria was our second winner from three runners (Miniskirt had finished second at Southwell minutes earlier). Lets hope that the winning run continues when super sprinter Mirza departs for (sunnier?) climes - he takes on the Prix Du Cercle at Deauville on Thursday afternoon, a race he won last year.  Unfortunately last years winning jockey, Frankie Dettori is busy at Glorious Goodwood so he is partnered by top French jockey Ioritz Mendizabal. The race is due off at 2.20pm

Calm Attitude relishes conditions

Calm Attitude, a Dutch Art filly who loves the mud made light work of the weekends wet conditions when closing late to score by a cosy half a length under Dane O'Neill.

It had been six weeks since Calm Attitude was last seen on a racecourse, she has been patiently waiting in her stable for soft ground and after Newmarket experienced close to 40mm of rain in the lead-up to the race; the wait was proven worthwhile.  Hopefully the rainy conditions stick around for another few weeks so that she can be seen again, but she is proving that on her ground she is a very tough filly to beat.

Congratulations go to her owners; Barry Stewart, Derek Willis (currently on Holiday) and Brendan Flahive.  Well done also to Shankar Pardeshi (Sunny) who both rides and looks after her.

Minalisa plotting the same course

Minalisa, Chris and Lesley Mills' Oasis Dream sprinter is aiming to carry along the same path as last year when tackling the Listed Yeomanstown Stud EBF Stakes, registered as the Sweet Mimosa Stakes tomorrow at Naas Racecourse in Ireland.

Almost a year ago to the day (23rd July 2014) Minalisa, partnered by Fran Berry who rides her again tomorrow travelled really well throughout before asserting two furlongs out and winning by two lengths.  Previous to this race Minalisa took in the exact course with races at Windsor and Salisbury.  The exact course is so precise that even Hollie who took her over last year when she won is taking her this year.

The best of luck to Chris and Lesley Mills, you can watch it on At The Races live at 7.35pm
